More than Engineering Support in Queensland – Our Community Engagement

Haald Engineering is aware of the positive impact good corporate citizenship has on the wider community and endeavours to be a role model in this regard by supporting a number of community projects, educational programmes, charities and research organisations.

Haald also acknowledges the importance of practical experience and where possible provides vocational work experience to outstanding achievers from the projects we support. It is hoped that by introducing students to a positive and stimulating work environment they will be inspired to achieve well in their educational pursuits and to ultimately enjoy learning.

Best United Soccer Club

As part of its commitment to the local community, Haald is sponsoring the Best United Soccer Club (BUSC), who are a group of extremely talented and enthusiastic young refugee soccer players. Haald is providing financial and organisational supports to assist the club in establishing itself as a registered club in a major competition.

Homework Club

In 2009 Haald launched a weekly tutoring program (the ‘homework club’) for refugee children aged between 10-16 years. Several tutors assist the children with homework and assignment preparation and provide support in English conversation, reading, math and science.

As an Engineering company we are keen to encourage those who show an interest in engineering to pursue this interest. Consequently, the homework club decided to offer the students training in Engineering design software, giving them an opportunity to actively practice engineering design. Three talented students are currently working on the design of a go-cart!

University of Queensland - HAALD Engineering Scholarship

At Haald, we recognise that the strength of our company is dependent on the skills of our people. It is to this end that we have implemented our own graduate program. In May 2009 the inaugural HAALD Engineering Scholarship was awarded to Mathew Bricalli - an outstanding third year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Queensland.
